Abstract
One of the most damaging major pests of stored
cereals is the rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae. Numerous common stored
grains, such as wheat, rice, maize, bajra, jowar, and split beans are attacked
by it. According to the present paper which is a review article
on the biology of S. oryzae, different developmental phases exhibit
differences based on seasonal fluctuations and food availability. Regardless of
food and season, it was found
that the females' life cycle was consistently longer than the males.
