Study on the biology, distribution and management of Odoiporus longicollis oliver (Banana pseudostem weevil) in Mampad, Malappuram

Abstract
The present paper discusses the incidence of banana pest Odoiporus
sp. Mampad, Malapuram, Kerala. The banana stem weevil is one of the major
banana pests all over world. In the laboratory experiment, we have observed the
life cycle of banana stem weevil through rearing methods. In the field
experiment the incidence of banana stem weevil the number and the hole made by
insects decreased from winter to summer months.
