Abstract
Insect pests are the important threat to agroecosystem. The review
highlights the diversity of insect pests, with thousands of species affecting
agroecosystem. According to research studies the recorded common species
belonging to the orders as Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, Hemiptera and Dictyoptera.
This review paper studies on the diversity of insect pests to provide an
overview of the current state of knowledge on the diversity of insect pests
from the agroecosystems. It also considers the effect of external factors such
as globalization, climate change and high temperature on pest diversity. Future
research directions advocate for the molecular insights, integration of ecological
principle and innovative technologies to our understanding of insect pest
diversity. Cooperative efforts among scientists, researchers and industry
investors are essential to study the insect pests diversity.
